Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions
How long does it take to hear back on a submission?
Response times can vary based on how busy our editorial team is. At the moment Flare is a completely volunteer run project, and so its production has to fit around the lives of our team. Because of this we can't give an accurate timeline for the production of each issue. So TLDR, you can expect to wait anywhere between a few weeks to a few months to hear back from us.
Will I hear back from an editor regardless of if my work is chosen to be published?
Yes. If you submit work to us, you'll definitely hear back regardless of if your work is accepted or rejected.
Can I submit to Flare again if my work is rejected?
Yes, definitely. If your work isn't chosen for publication the first time you submit, we encourage everyone to try and try again.
Do we accept previously published work?
Yes, if you retain the rights to republish the work.
How and where is Flare published?
Flare is published both online, as a free-to-access flipbook on Issuu and as a PDF download from our website, and as a limited run physical book available on our Etsy page.
How often is Flare published?
Like with our response times, our publication schedule isn't set in stone. We aim to publish two issues a year, whether we meet this target is for us to find out.
